Training and certification
Do I need training before using an instrument?
Yes. Instrument-specific training is required before independent use of any Mach-Bio instrument.
Can anyone book a standard training session?
Yes. During launch, anyone may book an available standard session. There is no approval step before booking.
How many people can attend a standard session?
At most 7. Once 7 places are confirmed, the session is full.
Is booking training the same as being certified?
No. Booking reserves a place. Mach-Bio confirms certification after training, per user and per instrument.
Does training on one instrument certify me on another?
No. Certification covers only the instrument you trained on.
How long does certification last?
12 months while you stay active. After 6 months without use, Mach-Bio may ask for refresher training.
Booking and access
How do I book equipment time?
Once Mach-Bio confirms your certification, you get access to Calira, the booking system, and book instrument time there.
What is the minimum booking?
Each instrument page shows its minimum. After the minimum, bookings run in 30-minute increments.
What if I cancel or don't attend?
Bookings need at least 24 hours notice. Late cancellation is charged at 50% of the booked amount, a no-show at 100%.
Pricing
Do published prices include VAT?
No. All published Mach-Bio prices exclude VAT.
Is there a price for training on its own?
Not at launch. Training outside a starter package is arranged on request; contact us and we'll confirm the arrangement.
Can I buy equipment hours online?
No. Certified users book hours in Calira. Starter packages and quotes are arranged with Mach-Bio directly.
Samples and data
What sample information do you need?
Sample type, species or material, biosafety class, GMO status, whether it is human-derived or infectious, fixation status, and any hazardous chemicals or dyes.
Who is responsible for my data?
You are. Users export their own data at the end of each session; local instrument storage is temporary.
